This is Just Outside my Bedroom

In restarted my university life last September at Reading University. I am studying zoology and luckily for me the campus is huge, beautiful and full of wildlife. My bedroom window looks out onto the Reading University lake and I can see a great number of birds from here let alone when I’m down by it. The two real stunning birds on the lake are the Egyptian geese Alopochen aegyptiaca, which aren’t actually geese, and the mandarins Aix galericulata, especially the males. Both these birds are not native which is why I don’t often see them, they’re more likely to be seen the closer you get to London.

I won’t go on in great detail at the moment about the birds on the lake but I will share some of the photos from my first semester here at Reading University.
